Custom made orthotics are medical devices used to help align the feet in a neutral position to offer support and control with abnormal biomechanics within the gait cycle. An impression is taking of each foot using the foam box impression method, this impression is then used to create a 3-D mold of the individuals feet in which is used to fabricate the custom orthotics. Depending on the individual’s needs, this will determine how the custom orthotics are designed, and what materials are used.
